. They have created in the Chaco and Paraguay a flourishing agriculture. The Mennonites
are still grateful to the Paraguayan State. When the first Mennonites to Paraguay, the Chaco
was deepest wilderness. They had to contend with poisonous snakes and spiders. There was in the region
only salt water. Many old people and children died of deprivation. Only the resistant
survived. And are now proud of her life's work.
